Anyhow, the magic of the FA Cup takes centre stage from tonight when West Ham reserves take on a Manchester City academy XI as the real players get a break and the managers spend their time watching videos of players rather than a tournament that lost its lustre around 1992.

Chelsea have kicked off FA Cup Friday with another sale to China – indeed John Obi Mikel has announced his farewell to England on his Twitter page.
The midfielder will join Tianjin TEDA after agreeing terms and passing a medical.
West Ham have pulled out of a deal for Jermain Defoe after seeing their £6m bid rejected yesterday.
It leaves the Hammers looking at either Scott Hogan or Moussa Dembele to fill their striker void – and both would reportedly cost the club upwards of £14m.
The Hammers have also suffered another blow on the transfer front as a paltry £3m bid for Robert Snodgrass was turned down by Hull.
Having unilaterally extended Snodgrass’ contract by 12 months, Hull would have expected a bigger bid for their star man, and the bid is likely to make relations between the clubs hostile.
In somewhat farcical fashion, Chelsea youngster Izzy Brown was recalled today from doomed Championship club Rotherham, who lie 12 points from safety at the bottom of the table.
Minutes later, Brown was announced as a Huddersfield player – joining the Terriers who are at the right end of the Championship table and challenging for promotion.
