La Liga Leaks: Dybala ‘waiting for Madrid call’, N’Zonzi ‘to reject Premier interest & join Juve’

Dybala

Senor Rumor Andrew Gaffney wraps the latest transfer rumours and going-ons from La Liga.

While the British media has predictably jumped on the fine form of Dele Alli to suggest he’s likely to be the most sought-after signing this summer, over in Spain, it appears Paulo Dybala is the latest player Barcelona and Real Madrid will battle over.

However a move for the Juventus hitman isn’t clear cut, similar to the situation with Paul Pogba last summer, who obviously ended up at Manchester United as opposed to a LaLiga side. Dybala, along with his agent, is set for another meeting with Juventus next week to discuss terms on a new deal after negotiations hit a brick wall. ‘MARCA’ say Real Madrid won’t reveal their hand until after that meeting.

Dybala

Dybala is apparently unsure as to whether he’ll push for a move away this summer or in 2018.  He feels a great sense of gratitude towards Juventus as they were the team who took a gamble on him back in 2015 when they bought the young Argentinian striker from fellow Serie A side Palmero for €32m.

The article also states that Dybala has rejected interest from Barcelona and is waiting for a call from Real Madrid.  That sounds mightily convenient for a Madrid-based paper but, with Karim Benzema’s court case hanging over his head and Alvaro Morata a possible makeweight in any deal for Dybala, it shouldn’t be completely ruled out either.

Steven N'Zonzi

‘Estadio Deportivo’ have picked up on a story that appears in today’s ‘L’Equipe’ on Steven N’Zonzi’s future. The combative defensive midfielder is a hot commodity in Europe after impressing at Sevilla this season and the French newspaper claims N’Zonzi has rejected Sevilla’s first offer of a new deal as he’s already decided to move to Juventus in the summer.

There are, of course, no quotes to fall back on but apparently N’Zonzi won’t force a move in January as he’s ineligible to play in the latter stages of the Champions League with another side. Part of the reason he rejected the contract offer was because it included raising his €30m release clause to €50m which might have put off Juventus and other potential suitors.

Zaza and Evra

‘Plaza Deportivo’ are running with a story which says Valencia have reached an agreement with Juventus for Simone Zaza and Patrice Evra.  Both deals are yet to be finalised with Zaza needing West Ham to agree a ‘pay-off’ with the Italian club for the six month loan deal.  Once that obstacle is overcome he’s set to become Los Che’s first signing of the winter transfer window.

The situation with Evra is a little less straight forward. Juventus are happy to let the player leave but Evra himself, while happy with the offer from Valencia, is hoping that Manchester United will make a bid for his services.  A return to England is his first option but it’s not clear how much United want him.  Should Jose Mourinho decide against signing the Frenchman, Valencia are in pole position to snap Evra up.

Marc Muniesa

Mark Hughes has ruled out a January move for one Spaniard at Stoke City, Bojan Krkic, but the future of Marc Muniesa is still up in the air.  Real Betis are keen on signing the centre back on loan according to ‘Al final de la Palmera‘ while the English club would prefer a permanent deal to free up cash for potential signings of their own this month.

Betis have around €1m to spend, not enough to convince Stoke to sell, and have instead been speaking to the player’s agent to try and get a loan deal in place with an option to make it permanent in the summer.

Rene Krhin

Granada‘s Rene Krhin is set to join Championship side Birmingham City in the upcoming days.  His time in Spain has been largely disrupted by injuries and under new coach Lucas Alcaraz he hasn’t played a single minute of football.  The Slovenian midfielder is happy to go elsewhere in search for playing time and Granada are happy to reduce their own large squad before searching for reinforcements.

Alen Halilovic

Alen Halilovic has asked Hamburg to let him leave on loan because he needs to be playing more often than he currently is. The former Barcelona starlet opted to join the Bundesliga side back in the summer but it hasn’t worked out as planned and just six months later, he’s looking for another move.

For sides near the bottom of LaLiga, looking to inject a bit of creativity to their attack, Halilovic might not be a bad option.  The problem for him is that after a bright start at Sporting Gijon he later faded and found himself used less and less.  It’s worth remembering that the kid is still only 20 years old so there’s plenty of time for him to find consistency to his game.
